1. Hiding in Plain Sight, Amsterdam

This cosy, speakeasy-style bar serves some of the best craft cocktails in Amsterdam. With a soundtrack of 1930s swing, and walls lined with vintage postcards and books, it’s a place where lovers can snuggle up on Chesterfields as they work their way through the drinks menu.

2. Marti Istanbul Rooftop Bar, Istanbul

4. Ozone, Ritz Carlton, Hong Kong

Ozone claims to be the highest bar in the world – it’s located on the 118th floor of the Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong. Mixologist Teresa Moon whips up the cocktails and chef Bryan Chin serves Asian tapas accompanied by vibrant DJ beats with vistas of the city and Victoria Harbour. It’s enough to make your head spin.

5. The Press Lounge at Ink 48, New York

Located in Hell’s Kitchen with incredible views across Manhattan and the Hudson River, The Press Lounge features a glass-walled interior, a greenhouse, a sunroom and rooftop garden reconstructed from an old pool, with herbs grown by the in-house forager. Unusually for New York, there is no door policy.
